ABOUT Susan Spinola

Interior General Contractor & Designer · Hilton Head Island

Design Grounded in Construction

Studio Spinola grew from construction knowledge first and design experience built on top of it. That background shapes every project today.

Understanding how a room will actually be built changes the way it is designed. Layout cabinetry, materials, lighting, polumbing, and construction details are considered together from the beginning- not handed from one person to another after theh drawings are finished.

Over the years, that combination has become the foundation of Studio Spinola’s practical design, experienced guidance, and a project that stays connected from the first ideas through construction.

Since 2001 the goal has remained simple: create spaces that are beautiful, realistic, and right for the people who live in them.

WHY ONE STUDIO

One person, doing both halves of the work

THE USUAL WAY

Most renovations run through two firms who don't answer to each other a designer who draws it, a contractor who builds it, and a homeowner in the middle relaying messages between them.

Every gap between those two firms becomes a decision the homeowner has to make alone, usually without enough information to make it well.

SUSAN’S WAY

Susan has spent twenty-five years being both, on purpose. Not a designer who partners with a builder, and not a builder who hired a designer one person who does both halves of the work and is accountable for how they meet.

For the homeowner, it means one set of hands, one point of contact, and no gap between the vision and the room it turns into.

HOW SUSAN WORKS

Small by design, not by accident

One or two, at a time

Never more than two projects at once.

That isn't a limit she's working to outgrow it's what lets one person stay accountable for both the design and the build of everything she takes on.

Before anything is ordered

The design is finished first.

A plan drawn properly up front is a plan that doesn't surprise you later no decisions made on the fly once the walls are open.

Hilton Head Island & Bluffton

Studio Spinola works primarily on Hilton Head Island, and in Bluffton communities where homes start around a million dollars.

The work is by appointment only, and it begins with a discovery conversation.
